Find the 2024 Little League Softball league age chart available to be viewed, downloaded or printed. The Little League Softball league age determination is different than the Little League Baseball Age Chart.
The age determination date for a Little League Softball player is the actual age of a child on December 31 of the current year. This year’s age determination date is December 31, of 2024. Little League’s baseball and softball divisions have slight differences regarding the age classification of players that overlap, allowing players to play at the division of play based on their age and experience.
The league age helps determines what “division” a player should register in and determines eligibility for Little League tournaments. This date is the same that many schools in many states use for student registration, which allows Little Leaguers to play with their classmates.
Current Seasons Used: Fall 2023, Spring 2024 and Summer 2024.

Little League also has an out-of-league boundary waiver request process. Typically, the president of both the league where there player resides and the league accepting the player have to agree to sign off. The parent(s)/legal guardian have to provide a statement with a reason(s) for the request and the local little league district needs to provide a statement. Little League International reviews all requests and makes a determination from there. Here is an example of a Little League Out-Of-League boundary waiver request form.
