Buy With Confidence
As with any sports memorabilia you purchase, there are a few very important things that you need to consider before shelling out your hard earned cash.
First and foremost is authenticity
While there are many different certification companies to choose from, PSA is by far the most recognized and trusted authentication company in the industry.
Because PSA uses a special DNA marker after an expert, or panel of experts, has certified the item to be genuine, they are then able to guarantee the authenticity of the item for life. The chance of their DNA strand being replicated is 1 in 33 trillion!
This authentic Babe Ruth signed baseball has been certified by PSA/DNA and will be delivered to you with its very own unique certificate of authenticity and tamper proof hologram.
A Reputable and Trusted Retailer
When you have found that special piece of memorabilia that you want to add to your collection, it is important to make that purchase with a trusted seller.
While I buy memorabilia from many different places, when I find that special piece online, there are very few retailers that I will put my trust in.
My #1 retailer is Sports Memorabilia.com.
Sports Memorabilia.com offers a very simple and straight forward guarantee – If the authenticity of any item that you purchase is ever found to be in doubt, you will immediately receive a no questions asked refund of your money. Making this kind of guarantee is important to you and to them. Reputation means everything for a memorabilia retailer.
Fortunately, in the 12 year history of Sports Memorabilia.com, they have never had an item returned for any authenticity issues.
Sports Memorabilia.com is also a Google trusted store.
Being a Google trusted store is a designation that is not given lightly by Google. There are many different criteria that must be met before a retailer can become a trusted store. When you see the “Google Trusted Store” badge on a website, you can be confident that you are dealing with a reputable retailer.
You can rest assured that they are utilizing the safest shipping practices and that customer service is top notch. You can also opt in for additional free purchase protection. On the rare occasion that an issue arises between you and the retailer that just can’t be resolved, Google will help to get that issue resolved. This is all at no additional cost to the customer.
When you purchase anything with Sports Memorabilia.com, you can rest assured that all the homework has been done and every possible protection for the customer has been put into place. Your purchase can be made with absolute confidence.
The Sultan of Swat
As far as I’m concerned, Babe Ruth is the greatest player to ever grace the game of baseball, for many reasons.
Home Runs
Babe is simply the most prolific hitter in the history of baseball. With 714 career home runs, Babe forever put his stamp on the game. While this record has been surpassed by Hank Aaron and Barry Bonds*, Babe accomplished this feat with under 8,400 at bats. On the flip side, it took Bonds more than 9,000 at bats, and Hank more than 11,000 at bats.
*Bonds has been thought to have been involved with steroids, however it’s not been proven.
Pitching
While understandably most people associate The Babe with home runs, a lot of baseball fans tend to forget that he was also a phenomenal pitcher!
During his ten year pitching career, Babe accomplished a record of 94 wins and 46 losses. He also had a career ERA just a shade over 2. And let’s not forget that somehow he was able to accomplish 107 complete games! Babe is truly one of the best left handed pitchers to ever play the game, or any pitcher for that matter.
Some Great Feats
I could spend an entire day listing all of Babe Ruth’s accomplishments, but here we’ll just list a few.
The Great Bambino led the American League in home runs 12 times!
In 1927, Ruth became the first player to ever hit 60 home runs in a single season. And let’s not forget that there were fewer games played in a season when Ruth played. Babe’s single season home run mark stood all the way until Roger Marris hit 61 home runs in 1961.
Babe was also a 6 time RBI champion and won 4 World Series championships with the New York Yankees!
And let’s never forget that the Boston Red Sox sold Ruth to the Yankees for $100,000! This lapse of judgement by the Red Sox organization sent Boston into an 86 year World Series championship drought. This deal became known as the Curse of The Great Bambino. What other player carries that kind of clout?
Some may call that superstition, but hey, us baseball fans are a superstitious lot 🙂 The Colossus of Clout did eventually forgive the Sox and allowed them to win their first World Series championship since the trade in 2004.
