When the question is – “what are the best baseball batting gloves”, a few brands immediately come to mind.
Having 4 kids playing baseball over the years, I can honestly say I have been through dozens of batting gloves….For each one! I have learned a few things during this journey.
1. The most expensive gloves are not always the best. 2. Expensive gloves, for some unknown reason, get lost at a much higher rate. 3. Your batting gloves are your batting gloves, not your team’s batting gloves. 4. Batting gloves do improve your grip on the bat. 5. Batting gloves greatly reduce the sting factor.
It seems that every player has their own opinion on which batting gloves are actually the best. I thought I would share my experience with you and hopefully help you make an informed decision.
I will not be discussing the “most popular” batting gloves, or “what the pros wear”. My opinion is based on several factors, including price, quality for the money, and durability.
Like any other player, my kids all have their personal favorites. I asked them to sit down with me and discuss the reasoning behind their opinions. I will start out with my oldest and work my way through.
Keep in mind that these gloves are perfectly fine for softball too. My daughter has moved on to fast pitch softball now and she has weighed in with her opinion also. So, without further ado….

Franklin Sports Shok-Sorb Pro Youth Series Batting Glove (Gray/Blue, Medium)
As my oldest son moved up through Little League and into high school, the pitching he was facing was definitely improving. When you start facing pitchers that can throw curve balls, sliders, and change ups, you start to get a lot more foul balls and pitches that don’t quite hit the sweet spot.
This results in a lot of stinging hands. The Franklin Shok-Sorb gloves did wonders for reducing the sting. He easily got 2 seasons out of a pair. We actually still have the last pair he got and he still uses them when he joins us for practice.
His main reason for choosing these gloves is the reduction in the sting factor.
Features:
- Shok-sorb padding system absorbs impact and greatly reduces sting
- Maintains softness in all conditions
- Great for games or practice
- Choose your color
Nike GB0335 Diamond Elite Pro II Batting Gloves – Black/Black
My daughter has always had an old school attitude when it comes to batting gloves. She has always refused to wear them, saying that she could never get a natural feeling grip on the bat.
No matter how many times I would see her wince when she hit the ball close to the hands, or off the end of the bat, she just plain and simply refused to wear them! We tried many different brands and styles with no luck until we finally found these.
There is a single piece of leather that wraps around the palm and over the side of the hand, covering the thumb and pinky finger. This is the first batting glove we have found that gives her the natural feel of a bare hand grip. And no more sting!
Her main reason for choosing this glove is the natural feel while gripping the bat.
Features:
- Fewer seams for less irritation
- Back-hand mesh keeps hands cool and comfortable
- Flexibility in key stretch zones
Easton Adult Stealth Core Batting Gloves (Small, White/Orange)
My middle son has always been all about Easton. Not that he refuses to try anything else, he has always just felt more comfortable with Easton gear, which is o.k. with me.
Easton has always provided a good quality product at a reasonable price. He has used these gloves for the past 2 seasons and still uses them for practice.
His main reasons for choosing these gloves are the natural feel of the grip and the elimination of the sting. We also had a few games with temperatures in the high 90’s with high humidity and he said his hands didn’t get sweaty inside the gloves.
Features:
- Cabretta leather palm for great feel and grip
- Adjustable neoprene wrist strap for a secure comfortable grip
- Synthetic back with breathable ventilation
- Choose your own color
Easton Youth Stealth Core Batting Glove
My youngest son either really loves these batting gloves, or he has fallen under the influence of his older brother’s love of Easton products.
He was able to get a full regular season and a fall season out of these gloves and they are still in good enough shape for batting practice. He really loves the fact that “the sting is gone”.
His favorite thing about these gloves is the camouflage 🙂 Gotta love it!
Features:
- Smooth leather palm gives the hitter great feel and grip
- Adjustable wristband for secure comfortable fit
- Mesh back for great hand movement
Franklin Sports CFX Pro Adult Series Batting Glove
Personally, I have always been partial to Franklin batting gloves. I received my first pair when I was a kid and have been using them ever since.
While technology has brought many improvements and tons of great new features, the quality of the product has remained very high. I used these gloves all year for the boys’ baseball practices and my daughter’s softball practices and they are still in good shape. I feel pretty confident that I can get another year out of them.
My main reasons for choosing these gloves are durability, flexibility, and of course the sting reduction.
Features:
- Sheepskin leather maintains softness in all conditions
- Neoprene bridge for added flex across the knuckles
- One piece leather palm provides a smooth seamless feel on the bat
- Floating thumb technology for increased glove flexibility
Here are some general guidelines for choosing the right size batting gloves
Measure from the beginning of your palm to the tip of your longest finger.
Small: Men~ 6 3/4″ – 7″ Women~ 6 1/2″ – 6 3/4″ Youth~ 6″ – 6 1/4″
Medium: Men~ 7″- 7 1/4″ Women~ 6 3/4″ – 7″ Youth~ 6 1/4″ – 6 1/2″

X Large: Men~ 7 3/4″ – 8″ Women~ 7 1/2″ – 7 3/4″ Youth~ 6 3/4″ – 7″
XX Large: Men~ 8″ – 8 1/4″ Women~ 7 3/4″ – 8″ Youth~ 7 1/4″
Note – Some manufacturers vary slightly in size
There are a lot of expensive batting gloves and there are a lot of cheap batting gloves. These gloves have proven themselves to me in real experience to be durable and of good quality for the money.
Especially when it comes to kids and the frequency that batting gloves get lost, I don’t want to be buying $100 batting gloves. If you want to splurge a little, Evoshield makes a nice glove that has been getting a lot of good reviews for around $50. It offers a little extra padding on top of the hand and gel inside that molds to your hand.

I have had a crack at baseball a few times and I thoroughly enjoyed playing the game, even more so than cricket which is my sport here in the UK haha.
There seems to be some great baseball batting gloves on this page and I might have to invest in some before my next baseball game.

Hey there! great reviews! I have a little guy just starting out, any advice for T-ballers?
Thanks Tara
Jeremy says
Hey Tara. The best advice I can give for the beginner is to keep it simple. Always offer lots of encouragement. If you can, get them a tee that they can practice with at home. Let them get comfortable playing catch with you using a tennis ball. The more comfortable they are before stepping out on the field the better. If you want to check out some simple baseball rules to go over with them, you can check out this post https://baseballxgear.com/simple-baseball-rules If you have any questions or need a hand, drop me a reply and I’ll get right back with you.
